Company in the spotlight: MoVe Scarves
The story of MoVe Scarves begins with a fortuitous coincidence that led to a Eureka moment. After a career switch in 2012, from HR to a year's training as a colour and style consultant, Monique discovered that for years she had been buying clothes in colours that did not flatter her. The solution? A simple red scarf that transformed her "sad" dress and gave her the insight that a scarf in the right colour can do wonders. This realisation gave her the idea to help others improve their wardrobe without having to replace everything.
Meet MoVe Scarves
What started as a personal discovery soon grew into a professional adventure. Monique decided to create scarves perfectly tailored to her customers' unique colour types. She started taking silk painting classes and further specialised in this art. She graduated as a colour and style consultant in late June 2013, and set up her own studio in 2015. Thus, MoVe Scarves was born - a name that stands for the first two letters of her first and last name, but also symbolises movement and progress: "MoVe on, don't stick around... and a silk scarf, 'It moves in the wind'."
Unique, timeless creations
Each scarf by MoVe is a handmade work of art, from the initial sketch to the final painting on silk, Monique pays personal attention to every detail. The scarves are not subject to trends; they are timeless and fit the wearer's unique personality. Moreover, a scarf always fits. Besides women's and men's scarves, the range expanded to include silk pocket squares, each piece equally unique and refined.
Why a workshop at MoVe Scarves should be on your wish list
MoVe's silk painting workshops are more than just educational; they are an experience. What started as an idea during meetings of Habotai, an association of silk artists, grew into a successful formula. Unlike other workshops, where participants often work on small patches, Monique guides them in creating a complete silk scarf. The process includes learning about silk, painting, fixing colours, and even learning knotting techniques. Each participant will go home with a unique, homemade scarf as well as an unforgettable experience.
A silk scarf as a keepsake
A recent success story perfectly illustrates how MoVe Scarves can make a personal and meaningful contribution to the special moments in its customers' lives. For a wedding in Austria, Monique painted a scarf for the groom's mother, with every detail carefully discussed. Delivery was soon followed by a request to create a matching pocket square for the groom, personalised with the couple's initials and the year of their wedding. This project is an example of the care and dedication put into every piece by MoVe.
MoVe Scarves offers more than just beautiful silk accessories; it offers an experience, a story and a personal touch. Each piece is unique, timeless and fully customised. Moreover, MoVe contributes to sustainability by offering an alternative to fast fashion. The silk scarves are not only beautiful, they are also functional: isothermal, soft and fit with any change in size or weight.
With her background as a colour and style consultant, Monique provides solutions for people who are stuck with the colours in their wardrobe. She creates not just a product, but a piece of happiness, a touch of extra luxury, and a sustainable choice for the future. MoVe Scarves is more than a brand - it is a movement to make the world a little more beautiful, one scarf at a time.
What's in the future?
The coming months are marked by new and exciting events. From 29 to 31 August, MoVe will participate in a pop-up in Brussels, together with six other creative entrepreneurs who value sustainability. And on 7 and 8 September, Monique will organise an Open Weekend to mark her birthday, where she will launch a new mini-workshop: make your own silk earrings. For just €10 (launch price), participants can have this unique experience, and the full amount will go to VZW Beter, an organisation that provides healthy meals for children with the well-known empty bread boxes.
